Drove three and a half hours to get there, stayed in a Premier Inn, woke up to grey skies and knew straight away – yep, classic British summer wedding incoming. But Hampton Manor’s one of those venues where the weather doesn’t matter. The place has magic built in. Anika and Sam’s day was full of laughter, music, and one rogue blue tit that tried to join the ceremony. Here’s what it looked like from my side of the lens.
Anika and Sam’s Wedding at Hampton Manor
Anika and Sam’s day at Hampton Manor was pure good vibes from start to finish. The morning kicked off with Anika and her bridesmaids laughing through hair and makeup – Emily was in charge of keeping the mood fun, and she nailed it. Meanwhile, Sam was out front greeting guests, all smiles, all nerves, and ready to go.
Just before the ceremony, Tom from the venue appeared with a giant net trying to rescue a blue tit that’d flown inside the barn – easily one of the funniest starts to a ceremony I’ve ever seen. Once things calmed down, Anika walked in, and the room just filled with emotion.
The rain decided to join us later, but honestly, it added something special. A few portraits under a clear umbrella, drinks indoors, and one hell of a party to finish it all off – sax player and everything. It was a proper celebration, and I loved every minute of it.

Hampton Manor – a Great Venue to get Married
If you’ve not been before, Hampton Manor is tucked away in Hampton-in-Arden near Solihull, and it’s one of those places that just gets it right. It’s got all the five-star touches without feeling over the top – beautiful interiors, friendly staff, and food that every guest ends up talking about.
What makes it such a cracking wedding venue is how easy it all feels. Ceremony spaces, gardens, and reception areas are all close together, so the day flows naturally and nobody’s trekking miles in heels. Even when the weather turns (which it did for Anika and Sam), the team have it covered – drinks move indoors, the atmosphere stays buzzing, and it all still looks brilliant in photos.
For portraits, you barely need to go far. We grabbed a few quick frames under a clear umbrella while the paths glistened from the rain, and it looked straight out of a movie. The gardens, the stone walls, even the hallways – everything here photographs beautifully. You can see why it’s such a popular spot for couples who want a mix of luxury and laid-back charm.
The staff deserve a proper shout-out too. They were on it all day – calm, organised, and genuinely lovely. Tom even managed to rescue a blue tit before the ceremony, which I still can’t think about without laughing. It’s those little things that make the place memorable.
Photography at Hampton Manor
My approach to shooting weddings here is the same as always – real moments, no fuss. I’m not big on staging things or dragging couples away for ages. I’d rather let the day breathe and catch people as they actually are. Hampton Manor suits that perfectly. There’s texture, light, and atmosphere everywhere, so you can tell a full story without interrupting anything.
During Anika and Sam’s day, that meant floating quietly during prep, watching the laughter unfold, and catching those little glances during the ceremony that most people miss. The space has warm light and soft tones that make those documentary shots feel natural and timeless.
The dancefloor was where things properly came alive. The band were unreal, the sax player had everyone losing their minds, and that’s where candid photography really shines. You can’t plan those moments – you just have to be ready and in the middle of it all.
If you’re planning a Hampton Manor wedding and you want photos that feel relaxed, natural, and totally unposed, that’s what I do. We’ll keep portraits quick, have a laugh while we’re at it, and spend the rest of the day capturing the real stuff – the laughter, the tears, and the chaos on the dancefloor.
