The Experience and My Approach

Quality over Quantity - I mean it!

I’m not a volume shooter. And I rarely do weddings back to back. I want to be the best version of myself at every wedding I photograph and give every couple 100% of me, so I don’t typically shoot more than 30 weddings a year.

Getting married in Kent? I always stay longer at local weddings!

It might be a cliché, but I don’t want you to feel like I’m just a supplier at your wedding. I’d love for you to feel like I’m just a friend with a camera, so I love meeting couples at my home in Folkestone for a cuppa and a chat before their wedding.

I'd love to get to know you

"I get to photograph people on one of their happiest days—luckiest job going.
I’ll blend in like a mate, skip the awkward posing, and catch the good stuff.
We’ll have a laugh. Promise."

Thanks to Stan we have the most beautiful and natural photos of us and our loved ones that we will treasure forever. Stan went to great effort to ensure he fully understood us as people to create our perfect shots, having met with us and keeping in touch in the weeks leading to plan and get to know us as people. All photos we received are exceptional and capture the essence of the day and family dynamics perfectly. Stan truly cares about his clients on a personal level, nothing was too much trouble for Stan. A very talented photographer as well as lovely person. We are really so grateful.

Will our wedding day feel rushed or structured around photos?

Documentary photography works great for people who aren't used to being photographed or feel awkward in front of a camera (nearly every person I've met in entire my life, including myself). There is no pressure on you to perform whatsoever. In fact, the only thing that's required is that you forget about the camera. Not being asked to pose or do things for photos constantly makes it incredibly easy to enjoy the day without worrying about being photographed.

Not the slightest bit. I can give you ideas or suggestions based on what's worked well at previous weddings but your day will in no way feel rushed because of photos. I document your day as it unfolds and the only things we might need to find time for is group photos and your couple portraits (if you want any at all, they aren't a must, and I get them done quickly and stress-free).

Simple - don't worry about stuff you can't control. You've picked a venue that you love and all venues have back up options in case of bad weather. I don't mind the rain. It keeps people from spreading too far and wide, and almost forces them to connect more. I also love the rain for couple portraits. It creates a really unique atmosphere for interesting images and we'll just need a brolly, or you can brave it without one, too.

Weddings are known for being late. I shot a wedding in June 2025 that ran on time and EVERYBODY (suppliers side) was talking about it - it's so rare! I don't mind coping with stress but I hate creating or contributing to it so don't expect any hassle from me whatsoever. If you've booked a limited hours package (Highlights, or 8 hours) I charge extra only if things run over an hour late, which doesn't happen often and we can sort it out afterwards.

Sure! It's not a must by any means but I do these if required. I try to get them done as quickly and as stress-free as possible so you don't miss your entire reception (I've been to weddings where that's happened). With the help of somebody who knows most people at your wedding we can get those done in 10-15 minutes.

I love those. It's a perfect way for you to have a breather from the fast-paced day and enjoy each other's company while I'm third-wheeling ninja style. I keep couple portraits as natural and relaxed as possible, letting you bring the best in each other rather. The I do is ask you to have a moment in a spot that looks awesome. If you're feeling funky and want to experiment with some cool portait ideas (think using light creatively, blurred motion behind you, not elaborate posing) -  I've got plenty of those too.

In 3 to 6 weeks after your wedding. Let me explain.
I'll send you some preview photos a few days after your wedding. If your wedding is on Saturday, you'll normally have your previews on the Tuesday after the wedding. Depending on how busy I am in the following weeks, your gallery and slideshow will be ready in 3 to 6 weeks. I don't use AI to batch select or edit images. It's all done by hand and I don't rush the artistic process.

I'm a tough cookie, but in case of unfortunate circumstances I have no control over, I'm incredibly lucky and grateful to be a part of an awesome community of documentary photographers, most of them close friends of mine who are going to be able to step in and cover me. It hasn't happend before and touch wood it will remain that way.
