We literally had one day of sunshine this whole month. I wanted to make the most of it. The small tornado – Noah, was unwell at home, under the supervision of mummy. The other tornado – Sophia, was the one left to be entertained.

We took one cupcake, which is a rare treat for her and headed to the beach down the road from us. Sophia is so used to being photographed by me that by now she is totally comfortable being her cheeky self without performing or waiting for instructions.

She savoured every crumb of the cupcake as if it was her last meal. That’s what happens when you don’t normally give sugar to your children. It was time to do what we initially came for. Collect seashells for her seashell jar at home. She spent precisely 4 seconds trying to find some and then proceeded to run and throw stones in the sea instead. That’s what happens when you put rocket fuel in a petrol engine.

After she was far from tired, but got bored, we actually sat down and watched the sunset together. For 3 seconds. Then she was off sprinting again. If you’ve got a kid around the same age (3), you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, one day you might. And then you will know.

I loved the sun, the time I spent with Sophia and the gigantic mess she made eating one tiny cupcake. Two days later, I still find crumbs from it in various locations. I enjoyed documenting what it felt the first day of sun on our faces in forever. I love practicing my photography skills and what a lovely way to do it.

OR… let’s get to know each other

Stan at his first wedding

So good to meet you! I’m Stan, 28, dad of two mini tornadoes – Sophia and Noah, in love with photography, The Traitors (just watching, I’d hate to play the game), and food! I’m one with many, many interests, ranging from F1, kickboxing and Strongman to yoga, journalling, and meditation. And so much more in between.

I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but I’m a bit allergic to football – the ONE thing in the world I can’t get into (that, and Marmite). I love anything Harlan Coben comes up with, as long as it’s not dubbed, Black Mirror, and The Big Bang Theory. So much contrast, I know.

That’s probably enough about me at this point. I’d love to hear all about you. Say hello here or find out more about me.
